Sultan, Awujale Lead Other Dignitaries To N10bn Endowment Fund Launch

All is now set as the Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN), an umbrella body for Muslims in the Southwest, holds a launch of 10 Billion naira Endowment Fund this coming Sunday.

The event which is scheduled to take place at Oriental Hotels, Victoria Island, Lagos, will be chaired by Alhaji Sulaimon Adegunwa.

His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General, Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar and the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona will lead other dignitaries to the event.

In a statement signed by the Chairman, Organising Committee, Alhaji Lere Alimi and MUSWEN Executive Secretary, Prof. Muslih Yahya, it was stated that the fund was meant to build a world-class national secretariat, offer scholarships and social interventions on health, agricultural empowerment as well as an entrepreneural centre in Ibadan, Oyo State.

According to the release, the centre will primarily be designed to help youths acquire functional commercial skills, capacity development to start and grow business and open access to funding and financing opportunities.

The centre is designed to have many components including entrepreneurial centre for business development services, counselling, training and skill acquisition services, 100-guest chalets, Jumah mosque, shopping and multi-purpose halls, banquets and restaurants among others.”

Other guests expected at the launch include all the Southwest governors, lawmakers, royal fathers, ministers and captains of industry.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) counterparts, Atiku Abubakar and Rabiu Kwankwaso too.”

President, MUSWEN & Deputy President-General (South), NSCIA) Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo will be the host.

Other personalities expected are Chairman and Founder, Fate Foundation, Alhaji Tajudeen Fola Adeola; Baba Addini of Lagos Sheikh Afeez Abou, Imam AbdurRahman Ahmad, Dr. Wale Babalakin among others.
