Summit University Wins Big with Two Global Innovation Grants

… We Have Reason To Celebrate- VC Prof Aibinu

The Summit University, Offa, just gotten additional two prestigious grants which will impact positively on learning outcomes, students, lecturers. The university, the community and the nation at large.

According to the Vice Chancellor of Summit University, Offa, Prof Musa Aibinu, there is a reason to celebrate — and it is the kind of news that puts our community right on the global innovation map.

“The Department of Mass Communication has just secured not one, but two prestigious grants from the Hadis Foundation, in partnership with Luminate, to power two groundbreaking projects:

1. Hack the Hype – Digital Literacy Boot Camp for Tertiary Institutions in Kwara State*

2. Ethical Learning Environment for Virtual and Advanced Tech Education (ELEVATE) Smart Classroom.”

Giving further explanation, Prof Aibinu stated that the Hack the Hype is all about giving today’s students the skills they need to thrive in the fast-moving digital world. It will train young people in how to spot misinformation, think critically, and engage responsibly online. In an age where false information can travel faster than the truth, this programme aims to create sharp, discerning minds who know how to find and share facts.

“ELEVATE Smart Classroom will change the way teaching and learning happen on our campus. With cutting-edge smart technology, classrooms will be transformed into interactive spaces where students are active participants, lecturers have powerful new tools, and learning is brought to life in ways that meet the needs of the 21st century.”

Together, these projects are set to create a new generation of digitally literate, critically minded, and innovation-driven learners — showing how education can keep pace with a rapidly changing world.

The driving force behind this milestone is Mr. Sholola Yusuf of the Department of Mass Communication, supported by his committed team. Their success is a shining example of what can happen when vision, dedication, and global partnerships come together. It is also a reminder of the value of grantmanship— the art of turning bold ideas into funded realities that change lives.

“As we celebrate, we encourage educators, innovators, and community leaders everywhere to look for opportunities, build partnerships, and create projects with real impact. The future belongs to those who prepare for it today. At Summit University, Offa — we shine like the sun.” He concluded.
