The demise of Prince Omoyeni Oladipo Oduko (1957-2026) was announced by his family on June the 15th, 2026.
A former director, Ogun State Internal Revenue Service passed away on June the 15th after a brief illness.
Born in into the Olufowodu Ruling family, (son of Oba Alaiyeluwa Oduko Olufowodu the 3rd, a past Liken of Ibefun ) Ibefun, Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State, he began his educational journey at Holy Trinity Anglican Primary School, Ibefun, before proceeding to the prestigious Ijebu-Ode Grammar School, where he obtained his West African School Certificate.
His commitment to continuous learning and professional development led him to earn several qualifications, including the Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB), an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Ibadan, and memberships of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and the Institute of Direct Marketing

In 2004, he joined the Ogun State Internal Revenue Service (OGIRS), where he served in several strategic leadership positions, including Director of Research and Technical Services, Director of Information, Director of Property and Other Taxes, Director of Relationship Management, and Coordinating Director (Acting Chairman).
His tenure at OGIRS was marked by innovation, transparency, and measurable achievements. Among his numerous contributions were:
- Introduction of the Electronic Tax Clearance Certificate system.
- Standardization of land valuation templates for tax administration.
- Leadership of border tax initiatives that generated significant revenue for Ogun State.
Most notably, he led the organization on multiple occasions with distinction, professionalism, and an impeccable record of accountability and integrity.
Entrepreneur, Consultant, and Trusted Adviser
Beyond his distinguished public service career, he was also an entrepreneur. His entrepreneurial pursuits reflected the same diligence, discipline, and strategic thinking that characterized his professional life.
Following his retirement from OGIRS, he remained professionally active, offering tax and financial consulting services to numerous high-profile organizations and businesses.
